Procurement-friendly innovation

The public sector has a huge potential to drive innovation. Public procurement has an annual turnover of almost SEK 900 billion in Sweden, which creates great opportunities to promote new solutions.

For innovations to create value, they need to be implemented and used, so innovation processes involving public sector and businesses need to take into account the conditions of the public market, not least procurement law. Traditionally, these conditions have received too little attention in innovation projects, leading to non-implementation or failure to scale good services.

Demand Acceleration – a framework for procurement-friendly innovation

Demand Acceleration is a unique framework developed within DigitalWell Arena. It aims to create better conditions for driving innovation through public procurement. The framework focuses on strengthening the link between public sector needs and innovative market solutions, leading to new digital health services that can improve care and increase efficiency.

Demand Acceleration is part of DigitalWell Arena’s vision to create a stronger link between innovative companies and the public sector. By using public procurement to drive innovation, we can work together to create a health and care system that is better equipped to meet the challenges of the future.

In this way, public procurement can become a strategic tool for innovation – rather than an obstacle course.
