Karlstad University coordinates one of the largest research initiatives within DigitalWell Arena: the Arena Project. It offers a base for six different research groups to collaborate on digital health innovation.
Together with Vinnova, Karlstad University is investing SEK 16 million between 2022 and 2026 in the Arena project. The research infrastructure will, among other things, enable the establishment of new research projects and interdisciplinary collaborations.
This means that researchers at Karlstad University will have more time to collaborate and find common research ideas – but also increased opportunities for collaboration with the public sector, businesses and civil society.
In total, the Arena project includes some 20 researchers from six different research groups at Karlstad University. It also includes the Grants and Innovation Office (GIO), which has an important role in supporting research and innovation collaborations between the university and companies, organisations and authorities.
An internationally leading research group of around 60 researchers with a large number of European projects (Horizon 2020) in its main priority areas; computer security, data communication and programme development.
Consists of about 70 researchers who conduct international cutting-edge research. The CTF focuses on value creation processes for users, experiences of organisations’ offerings, innovation and adoption of new offerings, management and service ecosystems.
Research in Nursing focuses on models and innovations for safe care and addresses the experiences of both individuals and carers.
The CGF focuses on gender, health and technology, and is part of the international research college GEXcel, which is a world-leading research centre in the field of gender research, with a particular focus on gender and gender mainstreaming.
The mission of FoU Välfärd Värmland is to support the knowledge-based work of social services. The activities are aimed at all areas of social services – care for the elderly, LSS and individual and family care.
CBU is a multidisciplinary research environment, with competences from psychology, social work, public health, nursing and pedagogy. The research concerns children and young people from birth to the age of 20.
