Karin Frejsjö is driving innovation in public procurement – an area with great potential to drive transformation. Through innovation and collaboration, she shows how procurement can become a tool for change, sustainability and better services for citizens.

Karin has been actively involved in the development of new approaches to innovation-friendly procurement at national level. She is a quick learner of new thoughts and ideas, which combined with her own 25 years of experience in procurement and breadth of knowledge, provide great potential to create conditions for innovation.

In order for new innovations to reach the public sector, collaborative spaces with innovative companies are needed. This is clearly exemplified by Ann-Sophie Gustafsson, this year’s DigitalWell Award winner in the “Service Development & Commercialisation” category. Ann-Sophie Gustafsson has long provided such an interface within Karlstad Municipality’s health and social care administration. Her work has contributed to the municipality having a strong position as a driver for the development of new services that meet citizens’ needs. It has also resulted in several new services gaining a foothold in the market.
